Below are a few videos illustrating that it is illegal for an insurance company to steer customers to any repair shop for car repairs.
You have the right to choose the repair shop of your choice!
Don't be fooled! Did you know that it is illegal for an insurance company to steer customers to any repair shop? And yet, the insurance companies been doing just that. So don't be fooled by your insurance company or by the people that work for them.
How it works
Your car has been involved in a fender bender or collision. To begin with, you will need to file a claim to the insurance company. At this point, the insurance company will try to lead the claimant to bring the damaged vehicle to their Direct Repair Program (DRP) shop. This shop is required to go by the insurance company's guidelines. These guidelines may include using aftermarket parts and may cut costs like not color sanding and polishing the paint after the repair. They may using flex additives in the bumper paint and reuse emblems. In addition, they may repair parts that should have been replaced and even use bondo. Let me tell you, the list goes on and on! What is even worse is that this can lead to shops that are being forced into making unsafe repairs that can greatly diminish the value of your car. The good news is that you do not have to settle for this!
It is your legal right to have your vehicle repaired at the repair shop of your shop!
For years, I have heard and seen insurance companies try to steer customers to their DRP shops. They say things like, “They will not pay the claim at the repair shop you choose” or “You will have to pay out of pocket for things that are not on their estimate”. The insurance companies even state that they will not guarantee the repairs if it is not a recommended DRP shop. None of this is true! Insurance companies do not have the right to guarantee the repairs. Only the repair shop has the right to guarantee the repairs they make. . Again, it is your right to have your vehicle repaired at the repair shop that you trust.
Body Shops, Paintless Dent Repair Shops and and the Insured Customers are Fighting Back for their Rights!
After years of being bullied, mislead insured claimants and repair shops are standing up for their rights.
So what do you do if you need to file a claim?
First off you have the right tell the car insurance company that you wish to have your car repaired at The Dent Devils shop or any other repair shop you choose! Again, remember it is illegal for them to try and tell you where to have it repaired. Feel free to drop your car off at my shop. When you have chosen the Dent Devils, the car insurance company covering the charges cannot refuse justifiable repairs or prices.
Sincerely, Eddie Martin
